When you are young not much matters, when you find something you like that’s all you got.

Between just watching “Beautiful Losers” and I just finished a “Where Are They Now” article on the pseudo actors of the cult classic KIDS.  I felt the need to share how this film played a role in my adolescences awhile opening my eyes to independent film and expanding my perspective on music and skateboarding.

All things aligned the summer of 95’.  I traveled to New York to be part of a pre-college summer program at Pratt School of Art and Design.   There I meet a new breed of kids who oozed art and culture from there pores.  This summer was the first time I was challenged in a field I dominated for years, the first time I feel in love and the first time I took a hallucinogen.

It was the last day of the summer program and a group of us were all sitting around trying to figure out what movie to watch that evening.  I had my money ready for the movie Species one of peers instantly shot that idea down and recommended the movie KIDS.  I went along for the ride and the rest is History.
